Christmas

God’s finger touched Mary’s womb; God was restoring Life to humanity. Yes, it was a long time ago; and in a land far away. But it is not a fairy tale.

Mary, with Joseph, walked to the manger – almost seventy miles from Nazareth to Bethlehem.

The shepherds walked to the manger – they had a heavenly vision, but they followed the light on the ground

The magi walked to the manger – they had a heavenly vision, but they followed the light on the ground

Who else walks to the manger?

We sing Angels we have heard on high; we are reminded that in Holy Spirit we have been given a heavenly vision. Do the words Gloria in Excelsis Deo gather dust throughout the year; or, with heavenly vision, do we walk the dust of mission following the light of God’s Life on the ground? Do we understand that we cannot have God’s Life without sharing it?

Let this Christmas Season be only a beginning to your daily walk to the manger. May you be blessed every day with heavenly vision to guide you, and a firm ground on which to continue your journey in this world. May God’s Life be with you, and through you may it reach the world.

With God’s love for you in my heart, I wish you a Merry Christmas.
